Work Experience
2006 – Today: Freelance Instructional Designer in Santa Barbara, CA
Shortly after earning my Master's Degree in eLearning, I began offering my services as an Instructional Designer.  Caltrans, Brooks Institute of Photography, University of California Santa Barbara Extension, Santa Barbara City College, AECOM, and URS are a few companies I have helped by creating more interactive learning.

2001 – Today: Photography & Photoshop Instructor at Santa Barbara City College in Santa Barbara, CA
I train students in face-to-face and online classes how to create correctly exposed images with great composition, adjust exposures for various lighting challenges, and how to digitally manipulate files with efficient file management solutions. I also further some of these students' education in upper division classes by teaching them how to shoot in tricky lighting situations, use studio and off camera strobes, while exploring the various areas of portrait photography. Occasional semesters allow me to teach Stock Photography and Creative Thinking classes.

2016 - 2017: Senior Instructional Designer with Jacobs Engineering Group, Inc.
It was a great joy to work as the Senior Instructional Designer for Jacobs. Applying my knowledge, experience, and skills to create ADA-friendly, interactive, online learning material for renowned worldwide business in nine different languages.

2011 – 2016: LMS Content Coordinator and Instructional Designer with W. W. Norton, Inc.
Working closely with the staff, instructors, and authors at WW Norton, I create various ADA & SCORM compliant, interactive activities that are packaged with the purchase of e-textbooks.

2011 – 2012: Photography Instructor at Art Institute Online of Pittsburgh
Working closely with the staff and students at AiO, I taught photography and Lightroom classes online.

1998-2001: Art Director / Office Manager with A'propos Wine Designs in Santa Barbara, CA
My duties included developing contacts with potential clients while maintaining a positive relationship with current clients, and transforming a client’s logo into a vectored art to be etched into wine bottles for promotional purposes.

1998-1999: Office Manager / Report Specialist with MEC Analytical in Tiburon, CA
I kept this toxicology team running smoothly while writing toxicology reports and responding to clients’ requests in a timely manner were my foremost duties with MEC.

1996 – 1998: Photographic Event Consultant with Sepia Photography in Greenbrae, CA
By starting with this company from ground level, I became a specialist in new client contacts, organization of social events, and providing quality electronic prints (a new process at this point in time) to each customer during the event.

1993 – 1996: Residential Counselor with Arizona Children's Home in Tucson, AZ
In this position I developed my skills of supervision, guidance, care, and support for court experienced youth and severely emotionally disturbed youth in residential and classroom settings. Development and management of interesting and educational activities were an essential part in creating a trust with each child.

1990-1991: Curator for the Todd Walker Gallery at the University of Arizona in Tucson, AZ
In working to keep various artists, shows, and insurances organized, I learned what goes on behind the scenes of a successful gallery and am now able to present more thoughtfully in all venues.

1989-1993: Photographer and Studio Manager with Photographic Works Lab in Tucson, AZ
